So some strange goings on in Cardiff Bay as revealed by Google Street View. Street View has provoked some controversy and some interesting comments over privacy issues but at the end of the day it doesn’t actually show anything that isn’t publicly available to someone walking down the street on the day that the photos were taken.
However, it has shown up some really bizarre things going on in the streets, even in our own Cardiff Bay. The Street View snapshot above shows what appears to be a ghost in Cardiff Bay!!
Some people seem to think that it’s related to the wormhole situated in Cardiff Bay shown in Torchwood. I think it’s more likely somebody advertising the forthcoming Mary Poppins show in the Cardiff Bay Millennium Centre

Just as weird is what’s going on just across the road.
Just what are these guys doing? Having a picnic in the middle of the fountains? Plugging a flux capacitor into the wormhole? Who knows?
Maybe just servicing the fountains but it definitely looks bizarre!

Looks like a great place for a picnic!
The trouble with the privacy issue is that although it only shows what was publicly available on that particular day, it’s now captured for all to see thereafter (or until Google remove it). Not that I object to being on it myself. But I can imagine that some would.
Street View is fascinating, though, isn’t it?!
